Pedro Perez is a video editor and a post production manager whom has been working professionally in media for over ten years. Currently furthering his education at Arizona State University, Pedro looks to make himself a stronger candidate for future opportunities in the film industry by earning his bachelor's degree in film making practices. Though still having a strong passion for post production, Pedro looks to take his love for cinematography further than a hobby. Not only furthering his education with school, he is also taking on work part time as a freelance camera operator getting re-familiar with working with cinema cameras.
Film was not the initial career path for Pedro. From a very young age music was a very strong draw. Born an only child, for a greater part of his adolescence, to a young Mexican couple that shared living space with family during his formative years. One of his high school aged cousins introduced Pedro to the music before he was school aged, which he was obsessed with. When Pedro had his first go around at college, he had ambitions of becoming a music producer. However, when he took multimedia courses that path was diverted and he fell in love with video editing. The ability to manipulate video and audio together was much more appealing. Pedro has worked on stop motion projects, music videos, animations, and short films. The more he worked on film and video the more he fell in love with the film creation process and the more certain he wanted to pursue film as his career.
Growing up Pedro's father had an affinity for action and comedy films. From low budget films to blockbusters, Pedro and his father would watch it all. Spending that time watching films meant the world to Pedro. So when he discovered his love for editing and film making, Comedies became a strong draw. In his career Pedro looks to make comedies above everything else. For Pedro entertainment in the form of comedy is far more cathartic than other genres. Whether it be satire, parody, or slapstick, one can get a strong message across with a good comedy. Pedro has the ambition to be making films that involve collaborations between his current network of artist friends and new network he builds during his time in school. Since his realization of wanting to get into the career of film making Pedro has not only wanted to make films for the sake of entertainment, he also wants to create a platform that could help his community showcase their talents and grow together.
